How Big a Deal Is the Power of God? – 09/20/26

Moses and Pharaoh stood on opposite sides of the Red Sea, but they both ended up glorifying God. The same is true in Acts 12. James is put to death with the sword, and Peter sleeps soundly in chains the night before his own execution because he has settled that to live or to die belongs to the Lord. Meanwhile the church prays, and an angel walks Peter past sixteen soldiers and through an iron gate that opens by itself. King Herod goes after God’s people out of pride, accepts the crowd’s praise as a god, and is struck down on the spot. God answers to no one, and He isn’t part of our plans. We are part of His. Every person will glorify Him in the end, either by enjoying Him forever in heaven or by facing His wrath forever in hell. The call now is to stop playing the fool, repent, and take up the cross.
