Partnership at SETX Church
1. Why Not Membership?
Most churches call it “membership.” We have changed the word from member to partner, and here is why. Members have rights; partners have responsibilities. We believe when you decide to call a certain church your “church home,” you are partnering with the other people to fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
2. What is the Mission and Vision of SETX Church?
We are here to connect people to God and to each other. We work hard to provide tools, resources, and experiences for people to grow into a personal relationship with God and others.
3. What is Required of a Partner?
We ask that as a partner you commit to helping us fulfill the mission of a partner by doing the following things:
- Pray for the church, the staff, and the people who are seeking a relationship with God.
- Participate in worship and a Connection Group.
- Seek those you come in contact with who are unchurched or looking for a church, and invite them to attend with you. We believe the church primarily exists for people who are not here yet
- Give to support the ministry of the church. We believe in the Biblical tithe. We also believe tithing isn’t a fundraiser for the church; it is part of our spiritual growth process. Tithing is between you and God.
- Serve at SETX Church. We believe there is a place for everyone to serve. The Lord calls us all to use our skills, gifts, and personalities in His service. We are excited to help you find your place on Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, or throughout the week!
That’s it! We are a group of imperfect people who are working to grow closer to God and be more like Jesus. We love broken people because God loves broken people. If you have any further questions, feel free to call our church office at 409-333-1223.
