The Gospel is not designed to accommodate sin or avoid confrontation. Through Paul’s rebuke of Elymas the sorcerer, Scripture demonstrates that God’s truth exposes deception, confronts wickedness, and reveals His authority over evil. The temporary blindness of Elymas and the conversion of Sergius Paulus illustrate both divine judgment and mercy. Faithful preaching must proclaim the reality of sin and its consequences while directing sinners toward repentance, forgiveness, and salvation through Jesus Christ.
