Just as a neglected and ruined boat motor is too far gone to repair and requires a total replacement, a human soul exposed to a lifetime of corruption cannot simply be patched up. Instead of trying to fix a hopeless spiritual mess on our own, we must allow Jesus to step in and give us a completely new heart and spirit that will never wear out.
